UCD Nutrition Department recruiting for Temporary Unit 18 Lecturer - Fall 2022 to teach Global Nutrition
The Department of Nutrition is seeking part-time temporary Unit 18 Lecturer(s) for Fall 2022 to teach Global Nutrition (NUT 119A). This 3.0 unit undergraduate course will be taught in-person Fall 2022 and is scheduled for Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11:00-11:50 am. Through this course, students build on their general nutrition foundation to understand: the global distribution, etiology and consequences of nutrition problems, ranging from undernutrition and food insecurity to overweight and associated chronic diseases; underlying social, environmental, and behavioral factors that contribute to malnutrition; and strategies to improve nutritional status, with emphasis on low- and middle-income countries. The course follows a lecture/discussion format, with students evaluated based on homework assignments and in-class exercises, midterm and final exams, and a writing assignment; a TA is assigned to assist with grading.
Qualification: Successful candidates for this position must have a PhD in nutrition or closely related field, knowledge and interest in the topic of global nutrition, and evidence of teaching experience in nutrition and related fields.
