Research Interests
Dr. Hackman’s research addresses the role of nutritional and botanical supplements for health enhancement.  With a large and growing number of consumers using supplements, rigorous safety and efficacy studies are necessary to best define the risks and benefits of supplements as part of a healthy diet and lifestyle.  Dr. Hackman is currently studying the role of flavanol-rich botanical extracts on vascular function and weight management, and the role of a soy-mushroom extract in prostate cancer.
