Scientists in the Department of Nutrition at UC Davis are looking for male smokers to participate in a study aimed at investigating the proposed health benefits of cocoa. Qualifying volunteers will be asked to participate during 2 independent study days (5 hours each day). On each study day volunteers will consume a cocoa milk shake, and donate a small amount of blood at the beginning and the end of the study day. Furthermore, a non-invasive measurement of circulatory health will be performed.

UC Davis Department of Nutrition Scientists are looking for Male and Female Volunteers willing to participate in a research study to determine the concentrations of small dense LDL-cholesterol in the blood of healthy people. Small dense LDL-cholesterol is a form of cholesterol that may promote the development of cardiovascular disease.
Participation in this study consists of a 30-45 minute visit to the Ragle Human Nutrition Center or the Western Human Nutrition Research Center Human Studies Unit located on the UC Davis campus. Participants will fill out questionnaires about health, lifestyle, and nutritional supplement use. They will have their body weight, height, blood pressure, and waist circumference measured, and have 50-60ml blood drawn.

Researchers at UC Davis are looking at strawberries and their effect on lowering blood pressure in pre-hypertensive adults.
This study lasts for approximately 12 weeks and requires up to 6 visits to either Ragle Facility on the UC Davis campus, or the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, CA.
