in both infant Zn deficiency and intrauterine growth retardation rat
models.)

The goal of this study will be to use a sun exposure index (personal UVB dosimeter/badge measurements, UVB network information and sun exposure logs), skin pigmentation (reflectometer) and dietary intake to predict vitamin D status as measured by serum 25(OH)D. We are interested in the association between the level of individual sun exposure, skin color, dietary vitamin D intake and their relationship to vitamin D status in free-living subjects. |

of overweight were identified in an extensive review completed by UC
Berkeley’s Center for Weight and Health. This project involved
researching the literature for behaviors associated with each of the
identified determinants. The results of the literature search
provided the backbone for a Healthy Weight Behavior
Questionnaire. This questionnaire will serve as a low-cost,
simple evaluation and/or risk assessment tool that can be used to guide
low-income populations to make positive diet and lifestyle behavior
changes.
